CONCEPT
デザイン系パソコンスクールのインテリアのプロジェクトである。大阪梅田のテナントビルの一画に立地している。4～5人の少人数制の授業形態に合わせて分割、接合が容易に行える可動ブースをつくった。このブースは1人用パソコンデスクを基準単位とし、単体であれば1人用として利用でき、5ブースを連結すると円形として完結する。ブースの仕切壁は乳半アクリルでつくられ、デスク上部に配置した照明の光が透ける。
授業のスタイルや人数に合わせてブースの数やかたちを変えられる固定されない空間を求めた。

Located in a large office tower in front of Osaka station, this interior design project is for a personal computer school concerned with both graphic and presentation design.In Japan, many people attend school in the evenings after work to gain new skills.

I wanted to create a space where one would feel comfortable and relaxed with no tensions or pressure, so that the space encourages people to drop in.The program called for a small classroom, a seminar room for larger groups of people, a studio, waiting room, and cafe・ The given interior space was quite narrow, so in order to create as much open and fluid space as possible, I created edgeless circular forms to ease both movement and flexibility.All interior elements ・both fixed and moveable, are organized as a circular plan.The classroom and waiting spaces were required to be flexible and adaptable, as well as needing only moderate partitions.In order to give the visual appearance of more space, the walls are made of milky-white acrylics only 1.5m high.When lit from within, they appear to float in the space.The seminar room and studio, draped in walls of tapestry glass, provide a fixed space where discussions can be held in greater seclusion and quiet from the flexible classroom spaces.

For maximum flexibility in lesson styles and number of students, the 72 degree pie-shaped desk acts as a single minimum unit, which can then be added onto all the way to a full circle.Both addition and subtraction are performed with ease.The same idea is employed in the waiting area, where 72 degree 1/5 circle elements can be fastened together to form a 3/5 circular sofa.

By designing such flexible space, I hope user's activities will spread and greater and various occurrences will happen.
