CHAKANA
CONCEPT
群⾺県伊勢崎市に⽴地するペルー⼈オーナーのためのペルー料理店のインテリア計画である。
予算が限られていたことより、施主によるセルフビルドを前提として計画した。
遥か昔のインカ⽂化の世界観を表すチャカナをデザインの出発点とした。チャカナはインカ⽂化の最も重要なシンボルであり、⽣活と社会の信仰や⾏動や原理が表現され、今にも受け継がれ続けている。「チャカ」は「交差し、橋渡しをすること」を意味し、円を中⼼に「４つの段」から構成されている。４つの軸は東⻄南北を⽰すとともに、インカ⼈の４⼤原則である「⽇、⽔、空気、⼤地」を表す。そしてインカでは、世界を3つの世界に分けて考え、それぞれを象徴する聖なる動物として、コンドル（天井の世界）、ピューマ(地上の世界)、蛇(地下の世界)が存在する。
これらの世界観を表現するために、街の中を隈なく歩き回り廃材を集めてきた。
ブリコラージュした3つの動物が現れる店内の棚や看板は、インカ時代の⽯積技術に敬意を表している。
Chakana is the most important symbol of the Inca culture; it represents the principles, beliefs and behaviour of a society that continues through generations. The Chakana, or Inca cross, has 4 axes (each representing four fundamental principles: sun, water, air and earth) with a circular hole at the center of the cross.
The meaning behind this symbol was considered during the design process. Discarded construction materials were reused as a part of the project, breathing new air into them and bringing them back to life.
